Lenovo has updated the ThinkPad Edge small-to-medium business laptop line with the E525 and E425 models, and launched an external notebook monitor.
Both starting at $549, the affordable 15.6-inch Edge E525 and 14″ E425 are based on the AMD Fusion A-series Llano CPU and graphics technology and come with up to 750GB of hard drive space and maximal 8GB of RAM.
Lenovo’s new laptops are focused on audio / video conferencing, so they include a low-light sensitive web camera, noise suppressing keyboard, a dedicated microphone mute key and the ThinkVantage Communications Utility 2.0.
The notebooks also have a DVD burner, HDMI output, and an optional fingerprint reader.
Customers can choose between black and red chassis colors, and anti-glare or glossy displays.
Besides the ThinkPad Edge E425 and E525, Lenovo has released the ThinkVision LT1421, a 14-inch mobile monitor designed for use as an additional display for notebooks. It connects to a PC via the USB port, for both power and data. The LT1421 is priced at $220.
All three products are expected to start shipping by the end of this month.
